Homicide victim identified // Police identified Richard Ray, 37, of the 3700 block of Woodbine Ave. yesterday as the man stabbed about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday during an argument with another man in the 5200 block of Fairlawn Ave. Ray died a short time later at Sinai Hospital. Police said it was unknown whether Ray was related to Keith Ray, 24, of the 300 block of E. Lorraine Ave., whose body was found Tuesday afternoon in a woods off the 600 block of Wyman Park Drive. An autopsy found that Keith Ray had been shot in the head. No arrest had been made in either homicide.

Victim identified // Alfred Smith, 56, of the 900 block of N. Arlington Ave. in West Baltimore was identified yesterday as the man stabbed about 10 a.m. Wednesday in the 700 block of Appleton St. Smith was found lying in the nearby 600 block of N. Brice St. and died at an area hospital.

Burglary // A 13-inch TV, copper piping and a ladder were stolen between Saturday and Tuesday from a house in the 1300 block of W. North Ave.

Burglary // A 35 mm camera and music CDs were stolen Tuesday from a house in the 1800 block of W. North Ave. by someone who entered through a rear third-floor bedroom window.

Burglary // A kitchen cabinet, a countertop and a sink - all valued at nearly $1,400 - were stolen between Sept. 19 and Wednesday from an apartment in the 1600 block of W. Lafayette Ave. by someone who entered through a side window.

Robbery // A man, 41, was sleeping on a bench at a bus stop in the 1500 block of Presstman St. about 2 a.m. Monday when a gunman struck him in the face with the weapon and robbed him of his cell phone.

Cutting // A man, 21, was trying to break up a fight between two women in the 700 block of N. Payson St. about 10 p.m. Monday when a third woman cut him on the left arm and back. The victim was treated at University of Maryland Medical Center. No arrests were made.

Northeastern
Arrest // Michael Blackwell, 28, of the 1700 block of Abbotston St. was arrested Wednesday in the 4900 block of Clifton Ave. by members of the Regional Warrant Apprehension Task Force on a warrant charging him with first-degree murder. Blackwell is charged with shooting Davon Qualls, 17, in the 2500 block of Garrett Ave. about 9 p.m. Sept. 4. Qualls died that night at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Shooting // Police responding to a report of a man shot in the 4200 block of Sheldon Ave. about 3 a.m. Thursday found the victim, 22, sitting on the front steps of a house bleeding from a bullet wound to his left foot. The man told police he was sitting on the steps when a man approached and said, "What's up?" The victim said he was shot before he could respond. He was treated at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center.

Southeastern
Burglary // Two boxes of bamboo flooring valued at $250 were stolen Wednesday from the storage room of a house in the 200 block of S. Ann St.

Theft // A laptop computer, a Palm Pilot and a carrying case - all valued at nearly $2,600 - were stolen Wednesday from a 2004 Pontiac parked in the 500 block of S. Caroline St.

Theft // Someone broke into a 1997 Hyundai parked in the 600 block of S. Port St. on Wednesday and stole tools valued at $1,110.

Burglary // Three wooden doors, a sofa and several pieces of sheet rock - all valued at $300 - were stolen Tuesday from a house in the 300 block of Loneys Lane.

Southern
Theft // A silver 21-speed bike valued at $130 was stolen Monday from the backyard of a house in the 3900 block of Eighth St. in Brooklyn.

Baltimore County
Wilkens
Stabbings // A man and a woman were stabbed about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday in an apartment in the 2900 block of Lakebrook Circle. The man, who was stabbed in the neck and treated at Maryland Shock Trauma Center, was expected to survive. The woman sustained a minor wound and was treated at the scene. The incident remains under investigation.

White Marsh
Robbery // Two men, one with a handgun, robbed a man, 38, of $35, a cell phone and a leather carrying bag about 3 p.m. Wednesday while the victim walked down an alley in the 5600 block of Whitby Road.

Burglary // Someone stole a rocking chair and a planter from the front porch of a house in the 500 block of St. Patrick Drive between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Pikesville
Burglary // A 300-pound safe containing an undisclosed sum of money and a 9 mm semiautomatic handgun was stolen Wednesday from a house in the 4100 block of Buckingham Road by someone who entered the house through a rear bathroom window.
