Man sentenced to 10 years for illegal possession of handgun
Glen Burnie resident pleaded guilty to 2007 crime during traffic stop
A 54-year-old Glen Burnie man who pleaded guilty to illegal possession of a handgun was sentenced yesterday to 10 years in federal prison, according to the Maryland U.S. Attorney's Office.
Gregory Siscoe admitted that on March 8, 2007, he had a Hi Point .45-caliber handgun under the driver's seat of his car when he was stopped by Anne Arundel County police for speeding, federal prosecutors said. Police said they searched his car after a dog indicated there might be drugs inside.
Police said they found ammunition and crack cocaine. Siscoe agreed to plead guilty to a single charge of being a felon in possession of a handgun. He had been convicted in Anne Arundel County Circuit Court in 1992 of felony assault.
