Those amazing Christians

Someone reposted this tweet by @MattWalshBlog: “It's kind of amazing to see all of the Christians who think nothing of going to a yoga class. There are many excellent ways to get in shape that do not involve participating in Hindu worship.”

It’s kind of amazing to see all the Christians who attend midweek services on Wednesday. There are many excellent times to gather that do not honor Odin’s Day. (Avoid Thursday and Friday, Thor’s Day and Frigg’s Day.)

It’s kind of amazing to see all of the Christians who think nothing of bringing a Christmas tree into their houses. There are many excellent ways to commemorate the birth of Jesus without taking part in Teutonic pagan winter festivals.

It’s kind of amazing to see all the Christians who think nothing of celebrating Easter. There are many excellent ways to commemorate the resurrection of Jesus without involving Eastre, the dawn goddess honored at a pagan vernal festival.

It’s kind of amazing to see all of the Christians who think nothing of issuing ignorant condemnations without awareness of the syncretism by which Christianity has been appropriating other traditions for centuries. There are many excellent and available books by which people can inform themselves.
