Joke of the week: "Understanding Marriage"

This "joke of the week" kind of echo's the sentiments of the old art Linkletter show, "Kid's Say the Darndest Things" *, and for me, also conjures up the old adage "... from the mouths' of babes.".
But at its core, there is a kernel of stark, not-so-droll, reality here, particularly relating to that mid-20th C., pre-feminist revolution era, where essentially our mom's were often under-appreciated for all the personal sacrifice they made, and drudge labor they performed, day-in-and-day-out, as dutiful housewives and nurturing mothers. Indeed, back then, to a young, naive kid, it might at times appear that mom was just a mere hired hand, or live-in help.
(It's only as a grown adult that I look back, and fully appreciate how much my soon-to-be 88-year-old mom did for me, that at the time, growing up, I often took completely for granted.)
Today, thankfully, there is more of a division of labor when it comes to family obligations, where the mom may be out working a full-time job, and perhaps even making a larger salary than dad. In other words, what's women's work and men's work, domestically, is more nuanced. In many Western countries we have the house dad, who treats raising the kids as a full-time job.**
*Of course actor/ comedian Bill Cosby ably replaced Art Linkletter on 'Kids', when Art finlly retired.
**Scandinavia has many dedicated 'Mr. Moms' these days.
