SAN DIEGO -- A 31-year-old woman was attacked and raped by two men when she got off a bus in San Diego's Barrio Logan neighborhood, police said.
The woman told investigators she was grabbed after stepping off a bus at Logan and Sampson avenues around 8:10 p.m. Monday, according to San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros. Her attackers knocked her to the ground and covered her head with a jacket before taking turns sexually assaulting her, Delimitros said. The victim, who was hysterical when she called police on her cell phone after the attack, was not able to describe the assailants, other than that they were males.
It was the second reported sexual assault near a San Diego transit stop in two days. An 18-year-old woman reported being sexually assaulted by a man near the Euclid Avenue trolley station around 4:15 a.m. Sunday, police said.
The woman told investigators she was waiting for the trolley when the man lured her to a secluded area and sexually assaulted her before fleeing.
Police described him as a dark-skinned man, between 19 and 25, around 6 feet tall, last seen wearing baggy jeans and a long sleeve white shirt.
Anyone with information about either sexual assault was urged to call San Diego police at 619-531-2000.
