SAN MARCOS, Calif. -- Thoughts of the 14-year-old student who died at a school dance last week filled the minds of everyone attending an eighth grade graduation in San Marcos Thursday.
Monica Keller accepted her younger sister Sabrina'sWoodland Park Middle School diploma Thursday evening, exactly one week after Sabrina collapsed at the school dance. She was rushed to the hospital and died soon after.
People at the graduation were wearing blue ribbons which matched the color of Keller's eyes.
“I was so honored to be her dad. It makes me very honored to be her dad and to have known her," said Bryan Keller.
“It's obviously really hard. We can't hold her and she's not here, but I don't know how we're ever going to get over it,” said her mother Jill Keller.
Autopsy results are expected in about a month.
