SAN DIEGO - A professional racecar driver went to the press, forked over print dues, and expressed his frustration to Chargers owner Dean Spanos, calling for the firing of his two top men.

Professional racecar driver Nick Esayian spent $1,000 to buy space in the North County Times weeks after Spanos announced that he would be keeping General Manager A.J. Smith and Head Coach Norv Turner around from the 2012 season.

In the letter, Esayian blasted the Spanos over keeping Smith and Turner after the team lost half of the 16 games it played during the 2011 season.

The letter said:

“Your decision to retain Mr. Turner and Mr. Smith after a second year of missing the playoffs is a commitment to failure and a poor business decision. If your goal was to move the Chargers to Los Angeles then you’ve sealed the deal…”

The Chargers had no comment regarding the letter.
