SAN DIEGO—Miss California Carrie Prejean will continue her reign as Miss California. The announcement was made by Donald Trump at a news conference in New York. He also commented on the new racy photos of her making headlines.
"Some were very beautiful, some were risque, but again we're in the 21st century, said Trump. "We've made a determination that the pictures taken were acceptable... In many cases they were actually lovely pictures," he added.
Her former modeling agent in San Diego said Prejean showed her the same racy photo when she walked in to Jet Set Models in La Jolla back in March of 2008.
"As every model does, they come with their own portfolio book and Carrie had her own pictures, and most of the ones that were released today, were already in her book, and those were what we thought to be some of her better shots, " said Agent Jules Newmark.
Newmark told Fox 5 the photos were shot in the early portion of 2008 by photographer Dominic Petruzzi and appeared in the edgy magazine 'Blisss.' Newmark said it is common practice for young models to come in to the agency with photos like that.
Prejean also spoke at the Press Conference in New York in response to her controversial answer at the Miss USA pageant about gay marriage.
"I answered my question honestly and sincerely form my heart," she said. "I was very careful to articulate in saying that I did not want to offend anybody and that this is how I was raised and this is what I believe a marriage should be between one man and one woman. "
If the current Miss USA wins the Miss Universe title in August, Prejean will take over as Miss USA.
