A popular San Diego ice skating coach who fled the state after he was accused of possessing child pornography has been arrested in Massachusetts by U. S. Marshals.

Marc Romain Jacque Mandina was taken into custody in Leominster, Mass., on Thursday.

"He was arrested for posession of child pornography," said Deputy Marshal Toni Wheetley. "The San Diego Fugitive Task Force was contacted by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force which is done on a regular basis. We work with them to hunt down and put the worst of the worst behind bars. We got the lead Jan. 24 and Mandina was picked up on Jan. 27 in Boston."

An arrest warrent had been issued by the San Diego County District Attorney's office in October 2010.

Mandina is accused of videotaping a 12-year-old girl while she was showering in his San Marcos home, officials told Fox 5 San Diego.

He worked as a coach at the San Diego Ice Arena, but he may have also worked at other rinks in the county as well. People who know him described him as a great skating coach who could be strict with students but was well liked.

Officials have not said when Mandina will be returned to San Diego to face charges.
