Chula Vista, Calif. - A music festival at the Cricket Wireless Amphitheater in Chula Vista was expected to snarl traffic on Interstate 805 Saturday, and Chula Vista police advised residents to avoid the area.
The sold-out Identity Festival 2012 Concert was to include Porter Robinson, Bingo Players, DATSIK, Nero, Madeon, Audrey Napoleon, DJ Hardwell, Wolfgang Gartner and Paul Van Dyk. Heavy traffic was expected on southbound 805 approaching the Main Street exit, and on surface streets near there.
Chula Vista police advised concertgoers to circle around the heaviest choke point via Interstate 5 to Route 905, and then Interstate 805 north back up to Main Street.
The South Bay Expressway (Route 125) was another alternate route to the amphitheater suggested by police.
The show was to start at 2 p.m. and end at 11 p.m.
Cricket Wireless Amphitheatre reportedly has 9,468 chair-back seats and an additional 10,024 lawn seats.
