Local dog competes for "Best in Show"
The 2-year-old whippet strutted her stuff for "best in show" honors tuesday night.
The seven prized pooches in the final competition included Sadie the Scottie, I'm on fire the french bulldog, field of dreams the puli, and moonwalk the toy poodle. Chanel's owner says its an honor for her Chanel, to be one of the top seven in the competition. "it is indescribable just to have a dog here at this level. Its an incredible honor," explained Lori Lawrence.
Chanel, was born and raised in Rancho Santa Fe, and entered show business at six months. She's now famous for her impeccable movement, superb disposition, and perfect poses.
Lawrence says in Chanel's breed the judges are looking for "a beautiful long neck, very good movement on their legs. They are looking for them to have an easy flowing movement when they trot."
When Chanel is out of the spotlight, she plays at home with four other whippet, including her mother heather. Chanel can run 35 miles per hour, jump super-high, and snatch tennis balls like its her job. Chanel has already fetched 10 all-breed best in shows.
