Fort Worth police say two people are dead Monday morning following a wrong-way accident on Highway 287.
Police responded to a major accident call around 2:13 a.m., and found a Cadillac car on one side of the highway, and an overturned wrecker on the other.
Police say the car, with two men inside, was driving southbound in the northbound lanes, when it crashed head-on into the wrecker. Police say the impact sent the car over the center rail, and killed both the driver and passenger. The wrecker was knocked onto its side.
The driver of the wrecker was sent to the hospital, we’re told, with a broken leg. He is expected to recover.
Highway 287 was closed for several hours while crews and investigators worked the scene.
The two men killed were identified as Christopher Brookins, 24, and Eric Jordan, 25, both of Fort Worth.
