DALLAS, TEXAS—It's sure felt like a different season when North Texans woke up this morning. In fact, many business owners say the cooler temps made a difference. At the Pearl Cup Coffee shop the manager says fall weather always means more java is sold.
As North Texans sought out hot liquids to help them warm up.
"I guess we just thought it would be a good day to come get coffee since it is cold outside," said Dallas resident Bailey Boyd.
"Nothing like a hot cup of coffee on a cold day. It's just so much better than when it's 90 degrees out and you're sweating and trying to drink coffee," said Dallas resident Matthew Church.
Business was also busy at places selling fire wood. Managers at the Personal Touch Tree Service across from the Dallas Arboretum says orders have started to spike.
"The weather has dipped down pretty cool, and we thought why not give it a shot and fire up the fireplace, and get that good old warm weather going inside the house," said Dallas Resident Robert Pesh.
On the streets, we saw lots of folks wearing warmer clothes and foot wear. But overall, most said the weather shift is welcome.
"I have been waiting for it. So I have layers of clothes, in case it gets warm," said Dallas resident Ivvy Sega.
"Compared to the 115 degree summer we had this is a lot better. It cools you off, you can just drive with your windows down, you don't have to have your A/C on, it's very nice," Dallas resident Brittany Taylor.
For some the temperature dip is just an excuse to stay indoors and have an extra cup.
"I think it's the coziness factor, you just want to be cozy and warm," said Kathryn Lamar.
