Hector's on Henderson is a small, quaint bar and restaurant that is sandwiched between Hibiscus and Victor Tango's on the corner of Highway 75 and Henderson Avenue. Hector himself is always there!
The staff and guests commented on how it's great to see the owner take such care and pride into his establishment, a reason they keep coming back to the neighborhood restaurant with a taste of history.
Hector said he even buses tables from time to time, but the biggest treat that he gives to his guests is his vocal performances accompanied by a piano. This is no karaoke. He gave me a little preview, and he is very talented. The guests love it. But he isn't the main attraction every night -- Hector has live music every night of the week.
The intimate music goes perfect with the warm, low-key atmosphere. The American cuisine has a Texas twist, perfect for a date-night. The menu features upscale comfort food, with standard meat-and-potato options, yet there is nothing "standard" about them. Hector's was voted one of the "10 Best Places to Eat in Dallas' in "Texas Monthly" magazine.
The prices aren't over the top, and Hector's features drink specials every night. It's not the place you want to go if you are looking to "go out," but it is perfect for good conversation, good wine and good food.
