Salvador Dali is one of the most famous surrealist artists but what you may not know is that as eccentric as he was he also had a well refined palate. Dali's Wine Bar and Cellar, right in the middle of the One Arts Plaza, wanted to celebrate that passion for fine wine and cuisine with a sophisticated and chic lounge. Its small and quaint interior is decieving but actually has one of the largest and most unique selections of cultivated wines.

The head wine steward, Mark Luft says they, "offer about 370 different bottles by themselves, anywhere from White Burgundies to Australian Shirazes."

"We try to offer those rare and rouge wines that nobody can find. We specialize in hard to find, limited productions, high quality, cult wines that the regular wine bars are not offering or featuring," said owner Paul Pinnell.

And if you're not a wine connisseur but like a nice glass of wine, the somoliers at Dali's encourage you to step out of your comfort zone.

"That's really why I got into the business, to teach people and that's what I'm here for, said Luft. Because it's all about tasting and if you don't try it you won't know if you like it."

Dali's customer, Heather Hehringer would say that they are good at picking out a good wine, " the people like stacey said, are very knowledgeable about the wines and give great recommendations."

They have a lot more than just wine, they have a full menu as well. "They have a great menu. They have small plates, appetizers, salads, and entrees. So, you know, there's a wide variety of things you can have. If you just want tappas to go with your wine, or cheese, or what have you, a full meal, they have it all."

Dali's is right in the middle of the One Arts Plaza, so after you're done having a nice glass of wine, you can take one of the 'Art carts,' down to one of the many different art shows. But if you don't like wine at all, like the "College-kids" say, "B.Y.O.B."

"We have a unique liscense that allows you to bring in your own cocktail, or bottle of wine, as well as walk back out with it. It's one of those rare licenses that most restaruants don't have," said owner, Pinell.

Dali's Wine Bar and Cellar is a great detour for a glass of wine or delicious tappa, even if you're not going to the opera or symphony.
