Federal agents working at the El Paso port of entry have captured a fugitive featured on the Texas Department of Public Safety's top 10 most wanted list.

Officials said Tuesday that 24-year-old Mauricio Geovany Rosales presented his birth certificate at the border Monday. A background check revealed he had outstanding warrants for murder, attempted murder, aggravated assault with a weapon and flight to avoid prosecution charges.

He was turned over to El Paso police and is detained in the county jail.

A police spokesman said he did not know if Rosales has an attorney.
