Police in Lewisville have arrested a man who they say fatally stabbed his estranged wife.

38-year-old Tony Jesse Burrell is charged with capital murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

According to police, Burrell's estranged wife, 40-year-old Charlice Manning, and her children were staying with her parents on September 25. At about 6:45 am, Burrell allegedly broke into the house, found Manning in a bedroom, and stabbed her several times.

Police say Manning's daughter tried to stop the attack, but was also stabbed by Burrell.

Another family member called 911 and within two minutes police arrived to find Burrell still weilding a knife. Police took Burrell into custody. Manning was found dead in the bedroom.

Manning's daughter was treated for her injuries and released from an area hospital.

Burrell, who also had an outstanding warrant for violating probation on a family violence charge in Dallas County, is being held on $2 million bond on capital murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charges in the Denton County Jail.
