A former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver is facing federal drug charges.

Wide receiver Sam Hurd, who plays for the Chicago Bears, was arrested December 14 in Chicago on federal drug charges.

Hurd allegedly tried to buy ten kilos of cocaine and a half-ton of marijuana from an undercover agent acting as a North Texas drug dealer. He reportedly told the agent he distributed cocaine every week in Chicago, but he needed a new supplier in Dallas.

He will be brought to Texas to face the charges. The Cowboys are not making any comment on this. The Bears released a statement saying, "We are aware of Sam's arrest and are continuing to gather details surrounding it. We are disappointed whenever these circumstances arise."

There's no word on whether Hurd will be released from the Chicago Bears.
