Just some of the designers? Oscar de la Renta, Carolina Herrera, Ralph Lauren, Donna Karan and many more. Every major label has slender models strutting the runway wearing fall 2010 fashion and everyone was taking notice, including correspondents for Dallas's online fashion magazine, , Founder and CEO, Maxine Trowbridge, says, " It's a glimpse into all the new collections, bumping into celebrities and designers so I would say it's a pretty wild time." And the only real seat on the house is on the front row. Maxine says, " It's that prime position on Fashion Week. And there are people that won't attend a show unless they're on the front row." Although unlike years past, celebrities didn't grace the coveted seats, like at the Marc Jacobs show, where stars were banned! And Maxine says, "There was one show where Andre Leon Tally was sitting third row, that's shocking!" For those of you who don't know, that's the famous fashionista who's the new judge on America's Next Top Model. Other hot topics? Kelly Osbourne's sleek physique (she was interviewed by Pink Memo's Katria Szish) and the sad news of Alexander McQueen's death.
But back to the fashion, what's trending for the season? Maxine says, "Some of the looks we see coming in for the fall are very much the nude, muted beige tones coming through." And unlike previous seasons, the economy wasn't such a downer. Maxine says, "There's a lot more excitement in the collection, meaning a lot of fur pieces, embellishments, metallics, mixing textures." Like a metallic Alice and Olivia jacket. Maxine says, "You look at that and there's nothing sad about that, there's nothing safe about that, it's a great, exciting piece that's very over the top." It;'s a glimpse into the near future of fashion, but here in Texas, we just can't wait for Spring!
