A family from Denver is speaking out against American Airlines, after being stranded in Dallas for three days.
Kyle Gosnell says the airline forced him, his wife, and their four-year-old son to leave the airport because his passport was “mutilated.” He says that same passport was accepted in Denver. The family, who was planning on traveling to Belize for a family reunion, just wants the airline to have a consistent policy.
“American Airlines needs to follow an articulated policy and not a subjective decision based on the mood of the agent,” said Gosnell.
Gosnell’s wife, Dana, said, "There's something wrong on every level, and not only that, emotionally, we have been looking forward to this for so long. So, for both of us to be working so hard, and be ready to have this great vacation, it’s so disappointing.”
The family says it canceled its trip to Belize. Meanwhile, American says it’s paying for the family’s hotel while they stay in North Texas. It says Gosnell's passport should have been flagged and stopped in Denver.
