Well, color us surprised. Rapper Snoop Dogg was arrested in Texas over the weekend for marijuana possession.
TMZ reportsthat Snoop was snagged with the weed at a border patrol check point in Sierra Nevada, about 90 miles southeast of El Paso. It was here that a drug-sniffing dog found pot on his tour bus.
According to the report, border patrol agents say they found a prescription bottle with a number of joints inside. It adds that Snoop said the drugs were his and that he has a prescription in California. The problem for Snoop is Texas has a zero-tolerance policy for pot regardless of any medical standing in other states.
In a fun bit of pot irony, Snoop was busted in same place Willie Nelson
was arrested for weed in 2010.
The rapper was cited for misdemeanor drug possession and released. If convicted, he could get up to 180 days in jail.
