A man shattered the glass doors the Seattle Police Department's North Precinct on the 10000 block of College Way North about 10:40 p.m. Thursday.
A witness waiting outside the precinct saw the man as he arrived on the scene carrying a large rock, walked to the front doors, and threw the rock at the outer glass panel doors. The rock crashed through the outer door, an inner door, and landed in the lobby.
Officers who heard the crash from inside entered the lobby and saw the suspect standing "calmly" outside the building. They took the man into custody without incident.
The man told officers he was from Guatemala and committed the crime in order to "go home."
Officers arrested and booked the man into King County Jail on the charge of malicious mischief.
