Rep. Jay Inslee, D-Wash., who is running for governor, will have Eliot Spitzer hosting a New York fundraiser for him March 5, with tickets ranging from $1,000 to $3,600, Inslee spokeswoman Jaime Smith confirmed Friday.

It's Spitzer's first step back into politics after resigning as governor of New York amid a prostitution scandal. Since his resignation, he was also the host of the CNN news program "In the Arena" for less than a year; the show was canceled in August 2011.

Spitzer will host the Inslee fundraiser at his Fifth Avenue home, the New York Post reported.

On Monday, Inslee will travel to Hollywood to raise money for his campaign, Smith said. Inslee will attend an event at the home of Len Unger, executive director of the American Jewish Committee.

Inslee is running for governor against Republican candidate and current state Attorney General Rob McKenna.
