VANCOUVER, B.C.—A millionaire reality TV star accused of murdering a former swimsuit model was found dead Sunday in British Columbia. Police had been searching around Vancouver for Ryan Alexander Jenkins. He was found in a hotel room in Columbia. Canadian Police say their initial investigation shows he may have killed himself.
Sgt. Duncan Pound of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police border integrity unit says police responded to a call about a dead person in Hope, east of Vancouver, and then called investigators who were part of the massive manhunt for Jenkins.
Pound says police don't yet know how long Jenkins was at the motel before his body was discovered.
Jenkins, a 32-year-old real estate developer and investor from Calgary, is suspected of killing Jasmine Fiore and stuffing her naked, mutilated body in a suitcase and reporting her missing the evening of August 15th.
His boat was found Wednesday at a marina not far from the U.S.-Canada border south of Vancouver.
Jenkins and Fiore met in Las Vegas in March and they married a few weeks later.
The couple separated shortly afterward, but reportedly had reconciled.
Jenkins' father, architect Dan Jenkins, told the Calgary Sun in a brief comment that authorities have not asked him to publicly plead for his son to come forward.
The elder Jenkins refused to say whether he's been in touch with his son, saying he's heeding the advice of his attorney.
Jenkins was recently a contestant on the VH1 reality show "Megan Wants a Millionaire." The show's been canceled.
