Boy struck b y car on Jefferson Street
An 8-year-old boy was flown to The Johns Hopkins Hospital Sunday afternoon after he was struck by a car in the 300 block of Jefferson Street, according to a Hagerstown Police Department spokesman.
The boy suffered a broken leg when he ran out into the street to get a ball and was struck, said Sgt. Jim Robison.
The boy’s injuries were not life-threatening, Robison said.
The driver was not at fault in the 3:50 p.m. accident, Robison said.
All witnesses to the incident said the boy ran out in the street to get the ball and the driver had nowhere to go, Robison said.
