HARTFORD TWP—Van Buren County Sheriff's Narcotics Unit have busted 5 people in drug related charges while investigating tips that meth was being manufactured at 59945 Red Arrow Highway in Hartford Township.
Detectives conducted a search of suspects and vehicles at the residence and located an active meth lab reaction vessel, a gas generator, several containers of meth oil, finished methamphetamine, meth paraphernalia such as meth smoking pipes and various other components, chemicals and ingredients used in the manufacture of methamphetamine.
Three of the individuals at the scene also had outstanding warrants for their arrest. Four of the individuals at the scene were arrested and taken to the Van Buren County Jail, warrants will be sought for two of the other individuals at the scene.
42-year old James Burgess, arrested for several warrants including maintaining a drug house, 24-year-old Brian Smith was arrested on maintaining a meth lab and possession of the substance as well as a previous warrant. 19-year-old Trisha Weir, a 29 and 27-year-old male, and a 24-year old female were also arrested. There names are being withheld at this time.
