GRAND RAPIDS—Passengers on Allegiant Air taking discount flights to Orlando will soon find themselves landing at a better place.
The airline has announced that its direct flights to Orlando from Grand Rapids will fly into Orlando International Airport (MCO) beginning February 12, 2010, where most major Orlando flights arrive. Allegiant flights currently go to Orlando-Sanford International Airport.
The low-fare airline will charge a promotional, introductory fare of $79.99 each way. Tickets at that price must be bought by December 16, 2009, and are valid for only for flights through May 31, 2010.
Allegiant will fly three times daily except Thursdays out of Gerald R. Ford International Airport, with departures at 1:00 p.m., 3:30 p.m., and 3:30 p.m.
The company also provides nonstop service from Grand Rapids to \ Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Las Vegas, Nev., Tampa Bay, Fla., and Phoenix, Ariz.
