The American Red Cross of Greater Grand Rapids has established a shelter for Saturday's approximately 1,000 evacuees from the B-93 Birthday Bash at the Ionia Free Fair Grounds on M-66 in the middle of Ionia.

A team of 12 Red Cross volunteers were dispatched in an Emergency Response Vehicle to operate the shelter.

The shelter is located at the Ionia Middle School.

Saturday evening's and all of today's events at the annual B-93 Birthday Bash were canceled Saturday afternoon when waters from the Grand River flooded the fairgrounds. The Michigan State Police evacuated the area, told concert-goers to leave their cars and to grab essentials from the vehicles.
