A local business is working to help a woman in her battle with breast and ovarian cancer.

Amore Trattoria restaurant, located off Alpine Avenue, is hosting a fundraiser Wednesday called Wigging Out. The money raised at the event will help purchase a wig for a Cedar Springs woman who is getting ready to undergo chemotherapy.

She's fighting breast cancer and ovarian cancer, and her daughter, Amber Moog, works at the restaurant. She is excited her employer and the community is working together to help her mom out.

“We actually have about five girls that are going to donate hair at the fundraiser, then we're going to put that hair together to actually create a wig for my mom because wigs are pretty expensive,” Amber told FOX 17.

“It's awesome, I can' believe Jon Maritzio would do something like this. They're just amazing people and just the support that everyone is showing is really awesome too and it means a lot to the family. It's going to help my mom out a lot.

Other businesses are pitching in to help out as well, and the public is welcome to come. Dinner is at 6:30 which includes a five course meal, and the raffle starts at 8:00 p.m.

Amore is located at 5080 Alpine Avenue NW, near 6 Mile Road.
