Sitting in cockpit
Judy Wexler, pilot, uses the pedal and hand crank as she sits in the cockpit of Gamera, a human powered helicopter, during a test of the vehicle. University of Maryland aerospace graduate and undergrad students have constructed Gamera. Wexler will try to get the vehicle off the ground pedaling and using a hand crank as the team vies for the Sikorsky Prize.
