Daley discusses fire safety

The city will consider mandating sprinklers in older high-rises and outlawing stairwell doors that lock as part of a review of last week's Loop high-rise fire that claimed six lives, Mayor Richard Daley said Monday. Meanwhile, Fire Commissioner James Joyce (left) said his department will determine whether firefighters in the future should escort people in high-rise stairwells to safety.
