Council president's home target of attempted break-in

Council President Bernard C. "Jack" Young's East Baltimore home was the target of an attempted break-in late Monday, a spokesman said.

Darlene Young, the council president's wife, arrived at their home in the 900 block of Central Ave. around 11 p.m. She noticed around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday that shutters and a window had been opened, spokesman Lester Davis said.

"They could see what appeared to be a fingerprint on the window," Davis said.

The Youngs notified police and nothing appeared to be missing, Davis said.

"Even in these times of rapidly falling crime statistics, anyone can still be a victim," Davis said.
