Traffic: All lanes on MD 214 reopened

Maryland Route 214, which had been shut down for more than two hours on Friday morning after a tall tree fell onto the roadway at Quarterfield Road, has been reopened, according to the State Highway Administration.

The tree brought down telephone lines, stalling traffic in both directions just after 7 a.m., according to SHA spokesman Charlie Gischlar.

Crews carved up the tree with chain saws and hauled away debris, and Gischlar reported the road reopened around 9:15 a.m.
