Traffic is closed in both directions at Route 648 and Hill Road in Severna Park Wednesday morning after a vehicle struck a pole and overturned, Anne Arundel County Police said.
Anne Arundel Police spokesman Justin Mulcahy said in a statement that at approximately 7:57 a.m., a single vehicle struck a pole and overturned at the 300 block of Route 648 (Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard), downing the pole. Crews would be in the area for several hours repairing the downed pole, said Mulcahy.
Traffic on Route 648 northbound is being rerouted at Lower Magothy Beach Road and southbound traffic is being rerouted at Leelyn Drive, Mulcahy said. He offered no information regarding injuries.
Also in Annapolis, Annapolis Police on Wednesday announced road closures for President Obama's slated visit to the city.
Police said in a statement that Westgate Circle will be closed from approximately 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Spa Road at Brown Street is slated to be closed as well as West Street at Monticello Avenue and Brown Street.
Also slated for closure are Amos Garrett Boulevard at Constitution Avenue, and Taylor Avenue at Cedar Park Road.
