Student who police say threatened College Park campus faces more charges
Alexander Song is still banned from campus, police say
Alexander Song (March 11, 2012)
In addition to disturbing the administration of activities and classes at the college, Alexander G. Song 2nd, 19, has been accused of charges including making false statements, misusing university facilities and equipment, sending harassing email and disturbing the peace, according to a statement from campus police.
Song was released from medical care Tuesday afternoon and taken into custody by detectives, then processed at the Prince George's County Department of Corrections, police said.
He was released on his own recognizance after appearing in district court, the statement said. He is still banned from campus without prior authorization.
Police say Song, who grew up in Howard County and attended Reservoir High School, posted an anonymous message online in March that threatened a "shooting rampage" on the College Park campus.
Song was arrested by campus police on March 11, the day after the threat was first reported.
