Turner was was found dead in the basement of his home in the 5700 block of Fenwick Avenue hours after the standoff Sunday, with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. A small-caliber handgun was found nearby.
Police said Turner struck the 29-year-old woman in the head with a handgun, and the gun fired. Police said it was unclear whether the woman suffered a gunshot wound.
Neighbors watched as dozens of police cars and SWAT team members descended on Fenwick in the Loch Raven neighborhood, directly across from Good Samaritan Hospital.
People clad in their Sunday church outfits complained of the barricades, which eventually spanned Belvedere Avenue from Welbourne Avenue to Loch Raven Boulevard, that prohibited them from getting to family gatherings.
