Newt Gingrich says he's down but not out in the race for the Republican presidential nomination.
The former House speaker spoke to more than 100 supporters Monday at a Ford dealership in Frederick. He was scheduled to speak later at Hood College.
Gingrich likened himself to the University of Kansas men's basketball team. They were behind at halftime Saturday but went on to defeat Ohio State in the NCAA semifinals.
Gingrich said last week that Romney probably will reach the 1,144 convention delegates needed to win the nomination.
Romney is favored to win Tuesday's primaries in Maryland, the District of Columbia and Wisconsin.
