Jaclyn J. Martin, 31, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor second-degree assault in an altercation with a woman officer on Aug. 21 and was sentenced to the time she has served since the charge was filed on Aug. 31.
Cox said the officer suffered a sprained right thumb and was treated for possible contamination after she struggled with Martin and Martin spat in her face. Cox said the fight erupted after the guard saw Martin take medications from another prisoner, and tried to lock Martin back into her cell.
Last week, she was sentenced for first-degree murder in the death of her husband, Lee Martin, who was shot to death outside the bar he owned in Dundalk. Martin had pleaded guilty to enlisting her brother to shoot and kill Lee Martin outside the Hops Inn early on the morning of May 22, 2010. Lee Martin was shot eight times, prosecutors said.
