Baltimore County police are searching for suspects who robbed Sobo Gold Buyers on Reisterstown Road last month.
Police said an employee of Sobo Gold had walked out the back door of the business in the 700 block of Reisterstown Road on Nov.14 when he was approached by a man with a gun who forced him to return to the store.
A second suspect was also involved and the two took jewelry and money and fled on foot, police said.
The robbery comes as police are dealing on several fronts with crime related to the high price of gold. County police have been cracking down on second-hand shops that deal in stolen metals. The department recently investigated two other Reisterstown Road stores that bought stolen jewelry from two women who were charged in a Westminster burglary. But even the second-hand shops are now becoming targets.
A police forensic artist created a sketch of one of the suspects in the Sobo Gold robbery. One is described as a black male, 30-40 years old, 5' 9" tall, and approximately 220 pounds. The other is also described as a black male, tall, with a thin build.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call county police at 410-307-2020 or Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-756-2587.Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
