Second fatal accident in recent days occurs on Jarrettsville Pike

A 51-year-old Harford County woman died in a one-car accident Sunday evening on Jarrettsville Pike in Monkton. It was the second fatal accident and the fourth death on the same rural roadway in two days.

Sherry Ann Baquol of the 2100 block of Baldwin Mill Road in Fallston was pronounced dead at 8:34 p.m. at the scene in the 14000 block of Jarrettsville Pike, police said. She was driving a 1995 Saab north, when the car left the road, struck a stone wall, uprooted several fence posts and hit a utility pole, police said. Officers arrived at the scene at 8:18 p.m. and found the car turned onto its passenger side and facing south.

Sunday's accident on a fairly straight section of the road occurred about two miles north of a 6 a.m. Friday crash that claimed the lives of three men. The driver in Friday's incident lost control of a Volkswagen Jetta and crossed the center line into the path of a milk truck just north of the intersection with Dulaney Valley Road in Phoenix. Police said dense fog and wet road conditions may have contributed to that accident.

Driver Daniel Kenneth Jagodzinski, 46, of the 8000 block of Del Haven Road in Dundalk; and front-seat passenger Keith Sheldon Weimer Jr., 24, of the 8000 block of Stratman Road in Dundalk — were pronounced dead on the scene.

A second passenger, Justin Christian Malone, 25, of the 200 block of Charter Oak Place in Bel Air, died later at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center.
