One person was killed and five others were injured in two separate triple shootings in Baltimore on Thursday night, according to police. Another man was fatally shot in North Baltimore near the campus of Loyola University Maryland.
In the first triple shooting, which police believe was targeted, two men and one woman were shot in the 2500 block of W. Fayette St. in Southwest Baltimore while sitting on the front steps of one victim's home about 6 p.m., said Anthony Guglielmi, a police spokesman.
The woman was critically injured, one of the men was shot in the arm and another was shot in the leg, Guglielmi said.
Police said their earlier report that one of those victims had died was incorrect.
Guglielmi said police believe one of the men on the steps had been in a previous dispute, possibly over money, and that dispute led to him being targeted.
Police also responded to the 2600 block of E. Preston St. in East Baltimore just before 8 p.m. and found two men and one woman shot. One of those men died.
Police do not know if the two separate shootings are related, or if either are related to a third fatal shooting of a man in North Baltimore about 6:30 p.m., Guglielmi said.
"Detectives right now are trying to sort out what's what, and if there are any commonalities," he said.
In the North Baltimore shooting, a man was killed in the 4600 block of York Road, a few blocks from the campus of Loyola University Maryland, police said.
