City police were called to two area hospitals overnight Friday to investigate separate shootings that left victims with wounds that are not life threatening.
Minutes before midnight, police responded to the Sandtown-Winchester neighborhood for a report of shots fired, but were were unable to locate a victim. A short time later, a 27-year-old man walked into an area hospital with a gunshot wound to his arm. He told investigators that he was shot while in the 1300 block of N. Carey St.
In a second incident, officers found a 29-year-old man being treated at an area hospital at about 12:30 a.m. Friday. He had sustained a gunshot wound to the shoulder. Investigators believe the shooting occurred in the 5900 block of Moravia Road in the Frankford neighborhood.
