Baltimore city police are investigating a shooting Monday in the Ellwood Park neighborhood.

Officers found a 21-year-old man injured at 1:27 a.m. near the intersection of Linwood Avenue and East Monument Street. He had been shot in the leg and lower back and was taken to an area hospital. He is expected to survive, police said.

Officers later determined that the shooting had occurred outside a home in the 600 block of N. Ellwood Ave.
