Officers, responding to reports of gunfire at 9:45 p.m. Tuesday night in the Park Heights area, found the victim, who was shot several times and slumped over the driver's seat of a vehicle. He was later identified as Bruce Royster, a resident of the 2900 block of Baker St. in the city.
Police are also investigating a second shooting that occurred nearby at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Mondawmin area. A 62-year-old man was shot several times in the face with a pellet gun in the 2300 block of Orem Ave. He is being treated at an area hospital and is expected to survive, police said.
The incident was the second recent involving a pellet gun. On Sunday, a man was shot in the head in the 500 block of N. Ellwood Ave., but police said his injuries were not serious. Pellet gun incidents are not classified as shooting statistics in Baltimore.
