Man shot in face near elementary school in N. Baltimore

A 22-year-old man was shot in the face early this morning near Walter P. Carter Elementary School in North Baltimore, police said.

Police say they responded at 12:35 a.m. to a call for a shooting in the 700 block of Willow Avenue in the Wilson Park neighborhood. Officers found the victim on the porch of a house in the 600 block of that street, Baltimore police said. Officers learned he had been shot multiple times in the face and neck while he was sitting a vehicle parked in the 700 block of the street, according to police.

Medics transported the victim to a nearby hospital, where he is in critical condition, police said.

Officers said the motive for the shooting not known. No arrests have been made.
