An early-morning fire in Brooklyn sent four people to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, including one firefighter and three occupants of the house.
According to Baltimore City Fire Department Chief Kevin Cartwright, the one-alarm fire broke out about 4:20 a.m. in a dwelling in the 800 block of Glade Court in Brooklyn. According to Cartwright, units responded to find a two-story dwelling with smoke and fire visible, and crews put out the fire by 4:35 a.m.
Cartwright said one adult and two children suffered mild smoke inhalation, were evaluated at the scene and transported to Harbor Hospital for additional treatment. One firefighter suffered a cut and was transported to Mercy Medical Center for treatment, he said. The fire was contained to the one dwelling, and the cause remains under investigation, Cartwright added.
The firefighter had been released as of Wednesday afternoon. Cartwright said he did not know the status of the adult and children.Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
