Halethorpe woman dead after car, BoltBus crash in Delaware

NEWARK, Del. — Delaware State Police say a driver is dead and another person injured after a car and a BoltBus crashed on Interstate 95 in Newark.

Police say the accident happened Wednesday at about 5:36 p.m. Police say the driver of a 1997 Chevrolet Monte Carlo was traveling south in the right lane of I-95 when for an unknown reason she veered across several lanes of traffic. The car was then struck by the BoltBus.

The crash caused the Chevrolet to spin and overturn. The driver, 24-year-old Toni Marie Koetzle of Halethorpe, was pronounced dead at the scene. She was not wearing a seat belt.

A passenger who was wearing a seat belt, 41-year-old Trae Miller of Northeast was flown to a hospital and is in critical condition.
