Police in Anne Arundel County are searching for a 21-year-old Millersville man in connection with the stabbing of his mother multiple times Monday night.
Police said they are also seeking charges of first-degree assault and assault with a deadly weapon against James Zito, the son.
Police first responded to the 700 block of Stacy Oak Way in Millersville about 7:30 p.m. for reports of family violence, police said.
There they found the unidentified woman, 54, stabbed multiple times, police said. She was transported to Anne Arundel Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
A subsequent investigation indicated that the woman's son, Zito, was responsible for the stabbings, police said.
Zito, who is white, is about 5 feet 9 inches tall and 170 pounds. He has long dark hair and a mustache, and was last seen wearing a red shirt and dark sweat pants.
Police said he is "possibly armed with a knife."
Anyone with information may be eligible for a $2,000 reward and is asked to call Metro Crime Stoppers at 866-756-2587.
