Woman killed after crashing into KFC in Landover identified

Authorities have identified the woman who was killed when her vehicle crashed into a KFC restaurant in Landover.

Hellena Louise Smith, 29, was speeding on Martin Luther King Jr. Highway on Monday evening when she lost control of her BMW, jumped a curb and slammed into the restaurant and another vehicle, police said.

Smith was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.

Two other people suffered injuries that were non-life-threatening, according to police.
