The administration intends to double the amount of revenue it collects from what is currently a $30 a year fee on household water bills. Those with septic systems would see their monthly fee double from $2.50 to $5. Customers on metered water systems would pay a rate based on usage — meaning some would see their fee double and others could actually pay less.
